GDBR 50 Mile Route
This 50mile ride includes 1540ft of climbing and is the perfect challenge for regular cyclists who like a reasonable challenge but don't fancy the 100mile route.
The ride heads out of Doddington Hall on a short section of closed road then turns towards Eagle and Thorpe on The Hill. After crossing the A46 on the new fly over the route heads to Haddington, Thurlby and the Bassingham, Norton Disney and Carlton le Moorland before turning towards Brant Broughton and the marhalled crossing of the A17.
After crossing the A17 riders head through Stragglethorpe and up the first climb of the day into Caythorpe. Caythorpe is a 2 stage climb, so riders get a little respite in the village before climbing again then taking the left turn down into Fulbeck before attacking the beautifull tree lined climb of Leadenham.
From Leadenham the route heads towards Welbourn and Navenby where they drop back down the ridge before turning right and heading towards Boothby Graffoe for the 4th and final climb. Once atop the ridge for the final time the route heads to Coleby for another nice descent, then to Aubourn and crossing back over the A46 fly over, before a short final rise at Whisby and back to the finish line at Doddington Hall.
